What we do...

Vaccine Policy & Information

At MountainView Pediatrics, we believe that immunizations are one of the safest and most effective ways to protect children, families, and communities from serious infectious diseases. We strongly support and recommend the immunization schedule established by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Our physicians and staff are committed to providing evidence-based medical care and education regarding the benefits, safety, and effectiveness of vaccines. We encourage all families to vaccinate their children according to the recommended schedule to provide the earliest and best protection against preventable illnesses.

We recognize, however, that some families may choose to delay vaccines, follow an alternate immunization schedule, or decline vaccinations altogether. While these decisions may differ from our medical recommendations, we are committed to maintaining respectful and collaborative relationships with families as we work together to support each child’s health and well-being.

For families choosing an alternate schedule or declining vaccines:

  • We will continue to provide ongoing education and counseling regarding vaccine safety, effectiveness, and the risks associated with vaccine-preventable diseases.

  • We may ask parents or guardians to review and sign vaccine refusal or delay documentation as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

  • We will discuss recommended vaccines at future visits and remain available to answer questions or concerns.

  • Families should be aware that, during outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases, children who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated may need to be evaluated outside the office, such as in their vehicle, to help protect medically vulnerable patients, including infants and children with weakened immune systems.

  • Our goal is to partner with families in a respectful, compassionate, and informed manner while advocating for the health and safety of all children in our community.

We appreciate the trust you place in our practice and welcome open, honest conversations regarding your child’s care.
